Surrounding the city of Moab are a number of historic rock art sites, some dating back as far as 500 A.D. A number of historic peoples were responsible for the creations of these pieces, depicting life as they saw it thousands of years ago. Several of the sites are found in the Arches National Park, north of the city, but other locations can be found nearby.
